Entry 1: Peace Within
God’s Word foretells the days in which we now live. Luke 21:26 speaks of people fainting from fear of dreadful things that are coming on the earth. While many are trembling, what does Jesus say to His people, to those who follow Him? In John 16:33, He says, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
For He Himself (Jesus Christ) is our peace (Eph. 2:14).
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Phil. 4:6-7).
You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You (Is. 26:3).
Then He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you. Go in peace” (Luke 7:50).
For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace (Rom. 8:6).
“For the mountains shall depart And the hills be removed, But My kindness shall not depart from you, Nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,” says the LORD, who has mercy on you (Is. 54:10).
Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord (2 Peter 1:2).
Enjoy these videos on the peace of God by Dr. Iris Barrett! More videos from her series "This is just Iris!" can be found hereon this website. The more we know about the peace of God, particularly that Jesus is our peace (Eph. 2:14), the more we can rest in Him. We have access 24/7 to God's peace within us through Christ. What comfort!
Jesus Christ lives within the believer and the Kingdom of God also resides within us (Luke 17:21). That Kingdom is righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit (Rom. 14:17). As we meditate on more and more of God's Word, these truths will become reality to us.
A wellspring of living water bubbles within us! How is this so? Jesus is living water (John 4:10-14), and as our Shepherd, He also leads us beside still waters and restores our souls. Oh, what a Savior!
