About "The Word is My Life" Training Ministry
I am Dr. Iris Barrett, a grateful woman who has found her life in Christ and is passionate about sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with others. Jesus’ words to Simon Peter in Luke 22:32 soothe me: “I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And you, when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers” (Luke 22:32). This verse reveals that Jesus prays for us from a heart of love, but then He charges us to help others.
The call of this ministry is, therefore, to help believers flourish in their relationship with Christ. We learn how to walk with our Shepherd by spending time with Him in the Word. Yes, God’s eternal Word—the Bible—is the perfect law of liberty (James 1:25). Through God’s Word, we are saved, come into the knowledge of the truth, and walk in freedom. This ministry will help you find spiritual answers, insight, and direction! Let’s move forward together…
Ministry Purpose and Resources

The PURPOSE of this ministry is threefold. First, it is to open God’s Word that shines light on our paths. This is a teaching, counseling, and prayer ministry. Second, the ministry comes alongside those at a crossroads in life, helping them discover spiritual truths needed to make wise decisions and move forward. Third, this ministry points the way forward for those who’ve walked with God a while and want to press into Him even further.
I provide many RESOURCES. Please review all that is available, learn, and move forward! As you apply the wisdom of God’s Word, you will become fruitful and prosper in life and in all you do (Psalm 1:3).

Ministry Beliefs
“The Word is My Life” Training Ministry is founded upon the Word of God. The belief system undergirding this ministry is the following: God, our Creator, exists from everlasting to everlasting (Psalm 90:2). He loves His creation and advances His Kingdom through the plans He has for our lives (Jeremiah 29:11).
I believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He shed His blood —ultimately offering up His life—to free us from the curse of sin (John 3:16). Not only is the power of sin broken in the life of the believer, but we are free to live a new life in Christ (1 Cor. 15:22). For those who receive Jesus Christ as Savior, He comes to dwell within us (Colossians 1:27), care for us lovingly as our Shepherd (Psalm 23:1), and minister to our souls (1 Peter 2:25).
Jesus has provided us a comforter—the Holy Spirit of God—who teaches us, guides us into truth, and lights the path for our lives (John 16:13; John 14:15-18).
As believers, we are the body of Christ. We join God in the great work He has ordained for the ages. As we fulfill our life’s call—the purpose for which we were created—the Kingdom of God advances. As Jesus said, “The Kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matthew 4:17)!
Jesus declared these Words as His purpose in Luke 4:18-19: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come.” This Word also serves as my life’s mandate, and I pray it is also yours. May God’s Kingdom come and His will be done on earth as it is in heaven!
